In New Pokmon Snap, players embark on a journey through the Lental region, capturing photographs of over 200 wild Pokmon in their natural habitats. Utilizing the NEO-ONE, a research vehicle, players explore diverse environments such as jungles, deserts, and beaches, both during the day and at night. The game introduces the Illumina phenomenon, where certain Pokmon and plants exhibit a unique glow, adding an element of mystery to the adventure.
Photographs are evaluated by Professor Mirror based on composition, subject proximity, and Pokmon behavior. Players can enhance their photos using the "Re-Snap" feature, which allows for adjustments like zoom, brightness, and the addition of filters and stickers. The game also supports online features, enabling players to share their favorite photos with others.
