Your adventure starts here

You will choose to be a hero or heroine inPokmon Moon, and you can name yourself whatever you'd like. The story begins right after your character has moved to the Alola region. No sooner have you arrived than your adventures begin to unfold, and you'll meet many people and Pokmon as you grow and learn.

Starter Pokmon Rowlet

Rowlet, the grass/flying type, can attack without making a sound! It flies silently through the skies, drawing near to its opponent without being noticed, and then lashing out with powerful kicks. It can also attack from a distance using the razor-sharp leaves that form part of its feathers.

Starter Pokmon Litten

Logical but also passionate, Litten always remains coolheaded and doesn't show its emotions on the surface. Litten, the fire type, can attack with flaming hairballs! Its fur is rich in oils and immensely flammable. Litten grooms itself by licking its fur, and then uses the collected fur as fuel for fireball attacks!

Starter Pokmon Popplio

The water type Pokmon Popplio's swimming speed is known to exceed 25 mph. It's better at moving in the water than on land. Still, when it's on land, it takes advantage of the elasticity of its balloons to perform acrobatic stunts and jumps.

Visit the Alola Region

Your new adventure inPokmon Moontakes place on an archipelago of tropical islands. Four nature-filled islands and one man-made island comprise the Alola region. The Alola region is also known as a resort area. Tourists flock to it from all over the world! Alola is surrounded by the sea. It has a diverse ecology made up of Pokmon that have lived as natives of the Alola region for generations, along with Pokmon that have more recently arrived in Alola from other regions.

The Island Challenge

One aspect of the unique culture that has developed in the Alola region is the island challenge, an adventurous rite that involves traveling through each of the four islands. This event helps young people grow into fine Pokmon Trainers. As the main character ofPokmon Moon, you yourself are destined to attempt this island challenge.

Island Challenge Trials

To complete the island challenge, young trial-goers must overcome the trials in store on each of the four islands. These trials are not limited to battling with Pokmon. They take a variety of forms, such as finding items or completing tests of knowledge. You will not be able to accomplish them with ordinary methods!

Grand Trials

The final trial on each island is called the grand trial. It is a Pokmon battle against the kahuna who leads that island. If a trial-goer succeeds in clearing this grand trial, he or she will be publicly recognized as having cleared all of the islands trials and can move on to the next island.

Introducing Z-Moves

A new element has been introduced into the Pokmon battles inPokmon Moon: Z-Moves. Z-Moves are moves of great power that can only be used once per battle. When the Trainer and Pokmons wishes resonate with each other, and both release their full power together-the result is the explosive force of a Z-Move! All Pokmon can use Z-Moves to perform mightily in battle!
